The Conclusa Research Institute is operated by Toby Rees. Conclusa is not currently a registered company; for data protection purposes, Toby Rees is the data controller responsible for personal data processed through this website and through correspondence with the Institute.

What personal data we collect
This website does not use forms, accounts, or analytics, and does not ask visitors to submit personal data directly. The personal data we handle falls into three categories.
Correspondence. If you email institute@conclusa.ai, we receive your name, email address, and whatever else you choose to include in your message.
Website hosting logs. Our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical data for every visitor, such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and site operation purposes.
Web fonts. This website loads typefaces from Google Fonts — on every page, via our shared stylesheet, and additionally on the Field Notes page, via a direct font request for its handwritten-style headings. Loading those typefaces sends your IP address to Google's servers. We do not use Google Fonts for tracking, and we intend to host these typefaces ourselves to remove this exchange entirely.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising technology of any kind. If that changes, this notice will be updated accordingly and, where required, we will ask for your consent first.
Why we process this data
We process correspondence to respond to your enquiry, which we consider a legitimate interest in operating the Institute and engaging with its research community. We process hosting logs to keep the website secure and functioning, also a legitimate interest. Where the Google Fonts request applies, our lawful basis is legitimate interest in presenting the website as designed, pending the move to self-hosted fonts.
Who we share data with
We do not sell or share personal data for marketing purposes. Data may be processed by our website hosting provider, in order to host the site, and, where the Google Fonts typeface is loading, by Google, which acts as an independent controller of that technical request data. We do not otherwise share personal data with third parties.
International transfers
The Institute uses third-party providers, including a website hosting provider, to operate this site. Where a provider we use is based outside the UK, this may involve a transfer of personal data outside the UK. Where that applies, we rely on the appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK's international data transfer provisions.
How long we keep data
We keep correspondence for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to it and to maintain a record of our engagement with contributors and researchers, and delete it when it is no longer needed. Hosting logs are retained only for the short period our hosting provider needs for security and operational purposes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us what personal data we hold about you and why, to correct inaccurate data, to delete your data, to restrict or object to our processing, and to receive a portable copy of data you have provided to us. To exercise any of these rights, contact institute@conclusa.ai.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as the Institute's activities develop, particularly as new applications of Decision Systems Engineering are introduced. The date at the top of this page reflects the version currently in effect.
